Miami finished 7-10 in 2025 and missed the playoffs, leading to a franchise reset. In the 2026 offseason the Dolphins fired head coach Mike McDaniel and hired Jeff Hafley, released longtime quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and traded away Jaylen Waddle. De'Von Achane returns as the centerpiece of the new-look offense.
